Shavelly & Kaiser’s June wedding at David’s Country Inn was the kind of day that reminds us why we love photographing weddings there so much. The entire celebration felt elegant without trying too hard, emotional without being overly formal, and full of those quiet in-between moments that make a wedding feel deeply personal. From the second we arrived at Shavelly’s home for getting ready photos, we already knew this wedding was going to be special. The light pouring into the house, the emotion between family members, the calm energy before the day officially began, everything photographed beautifully.
The two met through mutual friends while attending TCNJ, where both were business majors. Six years later, they stood surrounded by family and friends as they officially became husband and wife. One especially meaningful detail: Kaiser’s grandmother had gotten married at the very same church where they exchanged vows. Those kinds of full-circle moments always hit a little differently.
Visually, this wedding was unreal. Their engagement session at the New Jersey Botanical Garden already gave us a hint that they’d photograph naturally together, but their wedding day portraits somehow exceeded even that. Between the timeless charm of David’s Country Inn, the soft June light, and the way these two interacted with each other so effortlessly, every part of the day felt cinematic. Honestly, when couples ask us what wedding photos can look like at David’s Country Inn, this is one of the galleries we immediately show them.
And while the photos were stunning, what we’ll remember most was how grounded and genuine the entire day felt. A beautiful blend of Colombian and Filipino Chinese family traditions. College sweethearts surrounded by people who clearly adored them. A relaxed wedding day without unnecessary chaos. And somewhere in the background of it all, a 55-pound Sheepadoodle probably waiting patiently at home for everyone to come back. Some weddings just feel like people fully settling into their lives together. This was one of them.
