[Wedding] Allie & Christian – David’s Country Inn in Hackettstown, NJ

Some weddings feel less like a production and more like a really good gathering of people who genuinely enjoy being around each other. Allie and Christian’s wedding at David’s Country Inn was exactly that. From the start of the day, there was this calm, easygoing energy to everything. No obsession with perfect posing. No marathon photo sessions. Just two people who cared far more about spending time with their friends and family than turning their wedding into a staged content shoot. Which, ironically, usually leads to the most meaningful photos anyway.

David’s Country Inn was the perfect backdrop for that kind of celebration. The space has a warmth to it that works especially well for couples like Allie and Christian; couples who want their wedding to feel intimate, welcoming, and relaxed without sacrificing atmosphere. Throughout the day, there were so many small moments that made the wedding feel deeply personal, including touches of their Norwegian heritage woven into the celebration. One of our favorite details was the traditional kransekake displayed during the reception. Naturally, that sent us down an internet rabbit hole afterward learning more about Norwegian wedding traditions, which honestly made us appreciate the day even more.

And yes…Norwegians apparently know how to throw a party.

Once the dance floor opened up, the entire energy of the room shifted into another gear. Bob from Fantasy DJs kept the momentum going all night, and the crowd absolutely delivered. The kind of dance floor where people aren’t checking their phones or worrying about how they look; they’re just fully in it. Those are always our favorite weddings to photograph because the images end up feeling the same way the day felt: alive, unfiltered, and genuinely fun.

We’re so grateful we got to document this day for Allie and Christian. Weddings like this are such a good reminder that the best celebrations usually aren’t the ones trying the hardest to impress people. They’re the ones where everyone feels comfortable enough to simply enjoy themselves.
